Vanilla

Our own vanilla plantation is home to over 2000 vanilla pods all grown organically in our Kandyan Forest Garden. Since vanilla requires plenty of shade and rainfall it is an ideal crop for conservation and biodiversity while providing an income.

 

The process of growing, pollinating, harvesting and drying is done by our locals providing further employment to villagers in our community.
